FROM WOMAN TO WOMAN, FROM TIME TO TIME
Each piece carries a story not of one woman but of many. Silence, strength and creation. A memory shaped through clay, felt, and an intuitive hand.

About
// The power of the feminine imagined
In my work, the emphasis lies on the feminine. The feminine stands at the beginning of all life; it is the creative force. This force is profoundly human, not confined to women, but existing as a counterbalance to cultures of power. It is the power to determine one’s own life, one’s own body. She is not what others make of her, but what she herself chooses to be. She is the feminine, and that is enough. Through my work, I seek to give a voice to this feminine force: creative, nurturing, and resolute.

I draw my inspiration, among other sources, from the ancient Venus figurines, created at a time when the feminine was still revered. My work is also an ode to the women of thousands upon thousands of years ago, using the materials of their time, which still carry the memory of her, combined with the possibilities available to me in my own era. In clay and wool, their voices echo. The women of mythology are another source of inspiration. Both serve as bearers of the feminine principle. Within their symbolism, they recognise one another.
The most recurring forms in my visual language are vases, bowls and wall hangings. They connect the everyday with the archetypal, the present with the ancient. They form an accessible bridge between art and life. These forms are more than matter; they are ancient voices in a new body, from woman to woman, from time to time.
A vase is not only the material of its outer form, but also the emptiness within, just as silence itself holds meaning. She carries what is precious; she is an opening to the world. Rounded, feminine forms without a face, because this is not about one specific woman, but about every woman. Not a perfect body, but a source.
A bowl is a metaphor for the womb, the pelvis: that which receives life, carries it, nourishes it, and releases it again.
Two forms, one origin. Each work is unique, just as every human being is unique.

Elke werk is uniek, zoals ieder mens uniek is.
